The Law of Abundance vs. The Law of Scarcity
We don’t have a lack of abundance in the world, we have a lack of cooperation.
The Law of Scarcity is a dependent mentality and sucks energy and progress out of life.
Neither the dependent nor the provider find satisfaction.
The Law of Abundance teaches that all people can succeed and be happy. The Law of Abundance requires, as a minimum, independence.
However, Independence breeds competition. Unchecked competition leads to corruption.
Independence as the end result (big business) is a zero sum game where winning becomes a religion.

The Meaning of Success Part 2
Success is the accomplishment of a goal or aim.
Let’s take parenting as our topic of choice. Saying you want to be a great parent is ambiguous and difficult to define. Narrowing the scope, we can set a goal that is attainable and measurable.
Goal: I want to develop the capacity to dialogue with my children without yelling, judging, or getting frustrated (angry).
This is the WHAT. Now you need to figure out the HOW.
Refined goals:
- How to dialogue with my teenager without the intense motivation to tear his head off? Admirable goal.

The Recipe for Success
There are 3 ingredients in the Recipe for Success:
- Desire
- Knowledge
- Skills
Take away one ingredient and the recipe will fail. For example, let’s say I want to become a professional golfer. My desire is strong. I read, think, talk, dream, and sleep golf 24/7.
I subscribe to every golf publication on earth, in two languages. I watch every tournament, and I personally walk the entire Masters each year following the leaders around, golfers like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickleson.

The Me Pyramid
Effective communication is the skill of knowing what not to do as well as know what to do. Part of learning the skill of effective communication is knowing why certain things don’t work. As a kid, many adults were adamant in telling me what not to do, but it took years of trial and error before the why kicked in.
The Me Pyramid™ is a summary of many learned habits and skills from our childhood. Ineffective habits and skills. It the communication system of our parents, teachers, leaders, grandparents, and other significant people who participated in molding us.
