How Banks Make $ (part 2)
In this video the plot thickens. Once you understand what happened in the 1980s, move on to the 1990s and watch how even bank presidents were unaware of how money was made, even when interest rates drop.
Its common for us to think that when interest rates drop, banks and insurance companies make less money and vica versa. The videos shows you how the rate of return is not a function of lower or higher rates.

Interest Rates
Yesterday the Fed concluded their two-day meeting with rates unchanged. They did offer some insights into their thinking and the direction of the market in the statement that “economic conditions are likely to warrant exceptionally low levels of the Federal Funds Rate for some time” and that “inflation pressures will remain subdued in coming quarters.”
The overall feeling for those of you considering refinancing is to wait because rates should be low for the rest of the year. I have also remarked that we probably haven’t seen the bottom yet, with the caveat, at least that’s what I think today.
