Compassion is the practice of Listening, not Relating
The following story is an actual account sent to me by a client I’ll refer to as Lana.
A good friend and business associate of mine, Pam (name changed) was conducting some customer service trouble-shooting for me with our distributor. During one of our texting conversations she mentioned that she had been dealing with some difficult stuff around her home. During the next verbal conversation, out of genuine concern, I asked her how she was doing. She is married in her late 20’s or early 30’s with four small children.
